URGENT: Working for a leading Reservoir Consultancy Services Company...you will support their major Chinese Oil Company Client by helping to optimise the management of their conventional reservoirs. This is rotational contract position which could be 4-6 weeks on and 3 weeks off – to be agreed with the Project Manager. Working as part of the Company’s multidisciplinary Team at the Client site, you will contribute to the development plans of assets in the Middle East and dependent on your level of experience may be expected to visit the UAE for meetings. The Company is building a large Team for their Client and are looking at all levels of expertise. Key Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
• An Earth Science related degree essential. A Masters or Ph.D. in Geological sciences desired.
• A minimum of 5 years oil and gas Industry experience with at least 3 years in development geology essential.
• Experience in clastic and carbonate reservoirs including some fractured reservoirs, both on- and off-shore desired.
• Experience of conventional heavy oil reservoir desired.
• Some oil company experience desired.
• Proven experience in Well Planning and Execution essential.
• Experience of asset development or economic evaluations desired.
• Highly analytical – the ability to resolve complex problems and to recommend solutions essential.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team essential.
• Some early career experience at well site and well operations foundation, desired.
• Familiarity with Petrel and Landmark software desired.
• Experience with mentoring others desired.
• Innovative and original-thinker- bottom line-oriented
• Proficiency in report writing, making presentation (in MS PowerPoint) and data analysis skills and utilization of MS Excel
• Self-motivated - must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Highly flexible – ability to adapt to new project challenges and work practices.
• Drive and ambition to succeed within reservoir services.
• Willingness to travel.
Job Description
Dependent on your level of experience you will be involved in some or all of the following activities:
• Work in a multidisciplinary team comprising experts in geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir engineering and drilling engineering.
• Contribute to the development and production activities of assets.
• Contribute to reservoir building and undertake volumetric assessments.
• Contribute to Field Development Plans and Reservoir Management strategies - apply subsurface evaluation methods including geological correlation, geological/reservoir mapping and 3D reservoir characterisation and modelling...
• Ensure that uncertainties inherent in data and interpretation are properly communicated and the effect of these uncertainties on results is understood.
• Identify and characterise risks & inputs to resource estimation.
