Our client has a requirement for a permanent Data Services Borehole Geologist position, based in Norway.
Job Scope;
• Borehole Geological Image Processing, Interpretation and Analysis
• Active Contribution to Geological Image Sales & Scoping Activities in North Sea Geomarket.
• Be actively involved in Client visits, Sales & Opportunities chase & closure.
• Familiar with most Standard Geological Imaging Tools (and processing) within the Industry
Key Requirements
Required Skills and Experience;
• Strong background in Geology, possessing good interpretation/analytical skills.
• Strong knowledge of Data Services products and standards.
• Good communicator, instilling confidence in clients and peers alike.
• Good people skill, bonding the team as required.
Job Description
Responsibilities;
• Provide high quality Borehole geological processing and interpretation products to external and internal clients as required and directed and in accordance with all applicable Clients standards, policies and procedures.
• Could also lead the Data Services Geology team (where required) into providing high quality Borehole geological processing and interpretation products to external and internal clients as required and directed and in accordance with all applicable Our clients standards, policies and procedures.
• Actively explore opportunities to sell support and products in co-operation with the Data Services Manager and other Client business segments related to the Borehole Geology Domain.
• Maintain close relationships with other Clients business segments related to the Borehole Geology Domain.
• Support in planning geological data acquisition.
• Focus on total quality and monitor quality goals and results.
• Keeping abreast of the latest technological advances in the related technical areas.
• Maintain close communication and relationship with the Geology Domain Champion (s).
• Develop, foster and maintain good client relations, internal and external.
• Establish and maintain relationships with the SLB Geological technical community
• Disseminate technical information via professional meetings and conferences
• Ensure knowledge transfer from Wireline and D&M Domain Champions in order to develop Data Services staff
• Perform technical data processing and interpretations as required.
• Familiar with most Standard Geological Imaging Tools (and processing) within the Industry.
• Core-Image Integration and Analysis
