set active time log

i am not able to understand what is the function of set active time log, when I select this corresponding timelog of a well show active time log. I want to know what does it mean by 'active'?

This should be the active time-depth relationship used to display the well in time.... ...and do other calculations with (like extract seismic, velocity modeling, etc)

Check if the particular time log has data by opening it's preadsheet. Sometiems Petrel is buggy and you have to recreate it from the time tab of the well to really make it active.
