HC Saturation as a function of Permeability

Tue Nov 20, 2012 11:18 am

I'd like to know the basic of calculating the HC Saturation as a function of Permeability ?.. :)

By using the J-Function which is DIMENSIONLESS, for a particular rock type:
Same value of J at same wetting phase saturation for any unit system, any two fluids, any exact value of k,f
(k/f)1/2 is proportional to size of typical pore throat radius (remember k can have units of length2)
C is unit conversion factor (to make J(Sw) dimensionless)

more details check out the following links:

thanks for my internet

Thanks for your question and Answer!! :D

Nice to see that you shared the info you found! Do you need any help applying it to Petrel?

Thanks,
Could you give me Leverett function in Petrel format to be used in calculator ;)

and one thing I need more about is the pore geometry extracting from the equation which is (K/Por)0.5 :?:

For the capilary pressure you will need a height above free water level (HAFWL) property. This can be made in the geomoetrical modeling tab. I can't help you with the math, but you can just substitue variables (probably HAFWL and POR or PERM) in the function by dropping int he property in the calculator using the blue arrow.
