Petrel Core Data

I have loaded core data in Petrel as Points format. Is their any mechanism in Petrel or Ocean SDK using which we can identify that the data which user loaded is core data? do petrel sets any flag. because their is other data as well which isn't core data and i need to distinguish core data from the rest.
