Fault mapping

Hi all,

Im currently interpreting a set of 2D-seismic lines which I will subsequently grid in order to make time-structure maps and isochron maps. In the process I will be interpreting faults. Does anyone have a good idea on how to correlate faults between seismic lines? Does Petrel have some feature that allows automatic generation of a fault map?

There is no feature on the Petrel or any other Seismic Interpretation software for that matter that 'll do automatic Fault mapping'
It is a task that you have to do by yourself.
As you call up each 2D Line, you will map the fault or faults yourself and reassign (name) the different mapped faults. This process is repeated for all the loaded 2D Lines in the Project.
The next thing is for you to calculate the heaves of the faults after you must have interpreted your Horizon(s) of interest.
The heave is the lateral displacement of the horizon at the fault cut/intersection with the horizon.
With the completion of these various tasks, it will now be possible for you to generate your horizon maps together with the polygons of the different faults.
