Post Active check shot
My question is:

1) How to activate checkshot data for a particular well in Petrel? or is the checkshot is activated on import checkshot file?

2) How do i know that the checkshot is activated for a particular well? what is the best QC for this

Best way to check if a well has a time-depth-relationship (TDR) is by displaying it in a 3D window and switching the vertical domain to TWT. If the well still is visible it has a TDR.

To apply a checkshot to a well you can use the time tab in the settings of a well. here you can assign the checkshot or any other data (like velocity models, manual twt picks on welltops or a sonic log) to the well.

in the second answer you said assign, does this mean to check-in the checkshot, what is the order of preference in the same place?

yes, you need to have the checkshot ticked in the list of time-depth conversion methods available for your well in the time-tab. The list is indeed a preference list. The first object at the top is used, but if it's not available Petrel will use the second one that's ticked (activated).

Well I can assume three cases based on this:

case 1: if top one is available but the other one is checked-in. will Petrel still consider the top one?

case 2: if two items are checked-in. Will Petrel consider both of them to generate TDR?

Thanks

For both cases the answer is no.

Petrel only considers the checked methods and can only use one checked method from the list (but you can use manual adjustment together with other methods using the other field).
