As we're sure we forgot many other software packages you are bound to end up here on occasion. There are sub forums for several other software tools in here, so have a look.

Hi all,
Today I came across reports stating Lidar images were used to delineate prospects through surface geology. After some googling I understood that these were 3D models based on surface photography tied to a 3D mesh build from laser trigonometry.
Now, my question is: How would one be able to use these 3D images? What is the benefit and what does it add to normal satellite photography/remote imaging. Has anyone used this technique and can he or she expand on the workflow, pitfalls and benefits?
Much appreciated!!
