Really Need Help Identifying This Rock Or Whatever it is

I found this rock on a beach about 10 years ago and have no idea what it is, it looks like it's glass or something on the surface of it. Does anybody know what it is?

That looks something like Olivine.
But not too sure.... There are some techniques to figure that out by scratching on metal. Best too google olivine.

I just googled it and it does look like Olivine, I have to test it though. Do you think I should break the rock open to see if there's more of it?

hi.... it is really interesting .... why don't you thin section it ? so that you can recognize it from its optical properties?
