Post Oil-well cement additives
I am creating a study for a university research project and am having real difficulties finding information on the chemicals used/chemical composition of oil-well cement additives. Any help with the below would be very much apprecaited.

Below is a list of the 'types' of additives used in oil-well cements. What I need to find out is what chemicals are actually used in each case. For example I believe for 'accelarators' Calcium Chloride, Sodium Chloride, Sea water, potassium Chloride, Sodium Silicate, Gypsum etc are used.

If you could help me find out whether this is correct and what other additives are used for the others this would be a great help.

Information such as the use for each type and the raw materials used in producing each additive will be ideal. Also what chemicals are used for drilling fluids would also be great.

•ACCELERATORS
•ANTIFOAM AND DEFOAM AGENTS •ANTIGELATION AGENTS •DEEPCEM ADDITIVES •DISPERSANTS
•EXPANDING ADDITIVES •EXTENDERS
•FLUID-LOSS CONTROL ADDITIVES •GAS MIGRATION CONTROL ADDITIVES •LOST CIRCULATION CONTROL MATERIALS
•RETARDERS
•SURFACTANTS
•SUSPENDING AND ANTISETTLING AGENTS •THIXOTROPIC ADDITIVES:
•UNISLURRY ADDITIVES
•WEIGHTING AGENTS
•SPACERS
CHEMICAL WASHES

Many thanks

I can not provide you with a list of chemicals used for each additive, sorted per application...

... but maybe this Schlumberger document can help out: http://www.slb.com/~/media/Files/cement ... erials.pdf

Maybe you already found that one, just checking. Would be interested in your study though. Could you share your findings?
