Career: Master's degree in Petroleum Geology?
For the past 5 1/2 years I have been working as a Geologist Data Engineer in Mudlogging units (4 years in Libya and after the revolution in the North Sea). I have been trying to get into Wellsite Geology in the last year, but so far no success. I really like to work in the field and office is really something I would avoid at all costs.
I'm from Europe (Portugal) and I have a BSc degree. I am wondering if my chances would improve anything from getting a MSc degree in Petroleum Geology.
The major problem for me would be the fact that I would have to stop working for 1 year at least (if I get into a UK university). During this year I would still have bills to pay, no money coming in and the course fees. I have enough money to do it for now but it's a really big investment and I'm not sure it would pay off.
Thanks!
