After popular demand, an overview of available free software for viewing LAS files. FYI: LAS files are industry standard ASCII log file formates. Additions welcome through a reply!

GEMINI LAS Viewer Applet
Free Download (Applet for viewing LAS files online)
    -View Las files quickly.
    -Reads and parses the digital LAS file.
    -Presents standard KGS log curve types and a number of standard plot tracks.
    -Has a control dialog that configures track setup.
    -Save that image as a Portable Network Graphics (PNG) image file.

BlueView Log Image Manipulation Software by Schlumberger
Free Download
    -Displays, edits and splices log images.
    -Great for printing logs; a lot of options!
    -Make overlays & annotations
    -Schlumberger PDS files can be converted and saved as TIFF files.

    -Inspect, filter and convert digital log data files.
    -Use before Log files are loaded into interpretation software.

    -NOTE: does not allow one to view LAS files.
    -Certifies LAS fiels; eg checks if they comply to the Log ASCII Standard
    -Handles LAS Version 1.2 and 2.0 data files.

A freeware code written in C# to view LAS depth based files. It supports version 2 LAS only. Later release will be able to read version 3 also.

This code is written in C# and will require .Net Framework version 2 for execution. Plots can be saved in TIF or PPM formats.

I don't think that Schlumberger BlueView is able to view LAS. However, Schlumberger DataView is able to view LAS as well as DLIS and CSV.
