Data Density from Phase Difference (PDD) |
This is an acronym for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. The acronym PDD can be found in any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The full name for this log used in the industry is 'Data Density from Phase Difference'. This log is very common in the industry. Use this log to investigate the density of data samples per length of borehole traversed, for a resistivity logging measurement. At a higher level, this can be seen as a measure of the mwd data density. In other words, the density of data samples per length of borehole traversed; may be expressed as samples per unit length or as a Boolean indicator of sample presence within a depth frame. Simply said, this is a log that describes the density (mass per unit volume) of a material. Usually at Standard conditions (STP). Also used to indicate the frequency of occurrence.This log in unitless. Either the log measurements can not be expressed with a unit (eg. a ratio) or the unit is unknown to us.
