Integrated DTDF over Depth (IDTF) |
This is an acronym for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. The acronym IDTF can be found in any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The acronym stands for 'Integrated DTDF over Depth'. This log is not used too often in the industry. This log can be used to evaluate the total acoustic travel time over a wellbore interval as computed by integrating acoustic slowness from a sonic log (Compressional Slowness) over the interval. In general this log therefore displays units of the acoustic travel time (The total time required for an acoustic wave to travel from one point to another).This log usually has the unit 'Micro Time'. Data for this log is produced by a tool that uses a acoustic logging technique and can be used to investigate the acoustic slowness of the formation. Similar logs are listed below:
