HRCC Caliper Calibrated (HCAL)

This is a well log used in the oil and gas industry. You could have found the code HCAL in your log evaluation software or your corporate datastores. HRCC Caliper Calibrated is the offical name for this log. The business value of this log is often deamed high.

This log helps to evaluate the borehole diameter as measured by a logging device: a record of the borehole or the internal diameter of tubular goods. In general this is a measurement of the inside diameter (Inside diameter of an entity, such as an item of drillstring equipment).

This log usually has the unit 'Cylinder Diameter'.
