Raw Gamma Ray Average (GRR_CDR) |
This is a log of measurements along a well bore (a well-log). You could find this abbreviation GRR_CDR in your log evaluation software or any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. Raw Gamma Ray Average is the offical name for this log. Usage of this log is not high and encountering it is a rare occasion. The values of this log represent the intensity of natural gamma-ray radiation emitted from formations containing radioactive elements, such as Potassium, Thorium, and Uranium. Measured according to API specifications.This log usually has the unit 'Count Rate'. This is the number of events per unit time; e.g. the output of a scintillation counters. Data for this log is produced by a tool that uses a gamma ray logging technique and can be used to investigate the gamma ray of the formation. Similar logs are listed below:
