Array Induction Fully Calibrated (AHIFC) |
This is an abbreviation for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. You might have encountered this acronym AHIFC in your log evaluation software or any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The acronym stands for 'Array Induction Fully Calibrated'. This log is not often acquired after (or during) drilling a well. Use this log to investigate the formation conductivity as measured by a device capable of taking measurements at various combinations of resolution, depth of investigation, azimuth; such surveys allow detailed investigation of the invasion profile.This log usually has the unit 'Conductivity'. This is the quantity of electricity transferred across unit area per unit potential gradient per unit time. In isotropic material, it is the reciprocal of Resistivity. Sometimes called Specific Conductance. Data from this log can be used to investigate the conductivitty of the formation. Similar logs are listed below:
