Coherence Value at Compressional Peak (COHC) |
This is a log of measurements along a well bore (a well-log). The code COHC is a unique identifier to recognize this particular log and can be found in any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The full name for this log used in the industry is 'Coherence Value at Compressional Peak'. This log is not often acquired after (or during) drilling a well. This log helps to evaluate the measure of waveform coherence with respect to slowness and time, computed as a function of coherent energy to total energy; also called "Semblance" So basically this is a measure of the similarity between two or more functions; used with seismic waveforms to distinguish seismic events and to implement automatic picking schemes.This log in unitless. Either the log measurements can not be expressed with a unit (eg. a ratio) or the unit is unknown to us. Data for this log is produced by a tool that uses a acoustic logging technique and can be used to investigate the acoustic slowness of the formation. Similar logs are listed below:
