Micro SFL Conductivity (CMSF) |
This is an abbreviation for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. You could find this abbreviation CMSF in your log evaluation software or any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The abreviatin stands for 'Micro SFL Conductivity'. This log is not often acquired after (or during) drilling a well. Use this log to investigate the measurement of the conductivity of the formation, by a spherically focused tool, within the first few inches of the borehole wall. This log usually has the unit 'Conductivity'. This is the quantity of electricity transferred across unit area per unit potential gradient per unit time. In isotropic material, it is the reciprocal of Resistivity. Sometimes called Specific Conductance. Data for this log is produced by a tool that uses a spherically focused logging technique and can be used to investigate the conductivitty of the formation. A similar log might be: Spherically Focused Conductivity (CSFL).
