Laterolog Deep Conductivity (CLLD) |
This is an abbreviation for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. You might have encountered this acronym CLLD in your log evaluation software or any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The acronym stands for 'Laterolog Deep Conductivity'. Usage of this log is not high and encountering it is a rare occasion. This log can be used to evaluate the conductivity, measured by a laterolog (or guard log) resistivity device, which represents a measurement made several feet into the formation; generally considered a measurement of the undisturbed formation. This log usually has the unit 'Conductivity'. This is the quantity of electricity transferred across unit area per unit potential gradient per unit time. In isotropic material, it is the reciprocal of Resistivity. Sometimes called Specific Conductance. Data for this log is produced by a tool that uses a laterolog logging technique and can be used to investigate the conductivitty of the formation.
