Detector Blade Face Formation Exposure Time (BFX)
This is an abbreviation for a well log acquired after or during drilling. You could have found the code BFX in your log evaluation software or your corporate datastores. Detector Blade Face Formation Exposure Time is the offical name for this log. This log is not often acquired after (or during) drilling a well. This log displays readings of the time delay between the drill bit and a sensor reaching a given point in the wellbore during MWD/LWD logging. In general this log therefore displays units of the delay time. In other words, the time difference by which one event lags another. In refraction seismic work, the additional time required to traverse a raypath over the time which would be required to traverse the horizontal component at the highest velocity encountered on the raypath.
