CMR Bad Hole (Mud Signal) Flag (BADF_CMR)

This is an acronym for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. The acronym BADF_CMR is a unique identifier to recognize this particular log and can be encountered in your log evaluation software or your corporate datastores. The code stands for 'CMR Bad Hole (Mud Signal) Flag'. This log is not often acquired after (or during) drilling a well.

This log displays readings of the flag indicating that the hole is in poor condition (e.g. oversize or overly rugose)

Simply said, this is a log that describes the indicator of which of two or more conditions exist, or of which option has been selected. Most flags are binary in nature with a Yes/No possibility.

This log in unitless. Either the log measurements can not be expressed with a unit (eg. a ratio) or the unit is unknown to us.

Data from this log can be used to investigate the condition of the borehole.
