Density Ticks, 0.1 ft (TICK_DEN)

This is an abbreviation for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. You could have found the code TICK_DEN in your log evaluation software or your corporate datastores. The official name for this log is 'Density Ticks, 0.1 ft'. Usage of this log is not high and encountering it is a rare occasion.

Use this log to investigate the density of data samples per length of borehole traversed, for a bulk density logging measurement.

Furthermore, this can be explained by looking at the mwd data density. In other words, the density of data samples per length of borehole traversed; may be expressed as samples per unit length or as a Boolean indicator of sample presence within a depth frame.

Concluding, this is a measure of the density (mass per unit volume) of a material. Usually at Standard conditions (STP). Also used to indicate the frequency of occurrence.

This log in unitless. Either the log measurements can not be expressed with a unit (eg. a ratio) or the unit is unknown to us.

Data for this log is produced by a tool that uses a density logging technique and can be used to investigate the density of the formation. Similar logs are listed below:
