Time After Bit for Resistivity Measurement (TABR)

This is a well log used in the oil and gas industry. The acronym TABR can be found in any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The official name for this log is 'Time After Bit for Resistivity Measurement'. This log is not used too often in the industry.

The values of this log represent the time delay between the drill bit and a resistivity sensor reaching a given point in the wellbore during MWD/LWD logging. In general this is a measurement of the delay time. Better said, the time difference by which one event lags another. In refraction seismic work, the additional time required to traverse a raypath over the time which would be required to traverse the horizontal component at the highest velocity encountered on the raypath.

This log usually has the unit 'Time'. This is the 1) The measured or measurable period during which an action, process, or condition exists or continues. 2) The point or period when something occurs. 3) A fixed moment or hour for something to happen, begin, or end. 4) A historical period.

Data from this log can be used to investigate the time interval of the formation. Similar logs are listed below:
