Speed (SPD) |
This is an acronym for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. The acronym SPD can be found in any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The official name for this log is 'Speed'. This log is not often acquired after (or during) drilling a well. Use this log to investigate the rate of change of the displacement of a body in time. This log usually has the unit 'Cable Speed'. This is the cable speed, generally measured at the surface as an approximation of tool speed. Data from this log can be used to investigate the velocity of the cable. A similar log might be: TSCD Speed Corrected Tool Velocity (TSCV).
