SP from cablehead electrode processed in common remote (SPCD) |
This is an acronym for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. The acronym SPCD can be found in any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The abreviatin stands for 'SP from cablehead electrode processed in common remote'. This log is not often acquired after (or during) drilling a well. This log can be used to evaluate the potential difference (DC voltage) between a movable electrode in the borehole and a distant reference electrode usually at surface. The voltage is due to currents generated by the Electrochemical and Electrokinetic potentials.This log usually has the unit 'Low Electric Potential'.
