SP from bridle electrode processed at surface (SPBR) |
This is an abbreviation for a well log acquired after or during drilling. The acronym SPBR can be found in any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. SP from bridle electrode processed at surface is the offical name for this log. The usage of this log is well established. This log displays readings of the potential difference (DC voltage) between a movable electrode in the borehole and a distant reference electrode usually at surface. The voltage is due to currents generated by the Electrochemical and Electrokinetic potentials.This log usually has the unit 'Low Electric Potential'.
