SP Armor Corrected (Speed Corrected) (SPA_SC) |
This is an acronym for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. The acronym SPA_SC can be found in any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The acronym stands for 'SP Armor Corrected (Speed Corrected)'. This log is very common in the industry. This log can be used to evaluate the potential difference (DC voltage) between a movable electrode in the borehole and a distant reference electrode usually at surface. The voltage is due to currents generated by the Electrochemical and Electrokinetic potentials.This log usually has the unit 'Low Electric Potential'. Data from this log can be used to investigate the spontaneous potential of the formation. Similar logs are listed below:
