Minimum Ultrasonic Standoff, Right (SONR) |
This is the name of a log measured along a well bore (a well-log). You could find this abbreviation SONR in your log evaluation software or any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The abreviatin stands for 'Minimum Ultrasonic Standoff, Right'. Usage of this log is not high and encountering it is a rare occasion. The values of this log represent the distance from a sensor to the medium being investigated, such as from a logging sonde to the wall of the borehole. So basically this is a measure of the amount of physical separation between two objects, usually maintained in order to control their interaction.This log usually has the unit 'Length'.
