APS Formation Capture Cross Section (SIGF) |
This is a well log used in the oil and gas industry. The code SIGF is a unique identifier to recognize this particular log and can be found in any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. APS Formation Capture Cross Section is the offical name for this log. This log is often used in the industry. This log usually has the unit 'Neutron Capture Cross Section'. This is the effective area within which a neutron passes in order to be captured by an atomic nucleus. Commonly called Sigma.
