ADN Shock Rate, over 200g (SHK2_ADN) |
This is an acronym for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. The code SHK2_ADN is a unique identifier to recognize this particular log and can be found in any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The code stands for 'ADN Shock Rate, over 200g'. This log is not used too often in the industry. This log can be used to evaluate the measure of shocks or vibrations above some threshold per unit of time; used to quantify vibration severity for MWD/LWD tools. At a more general level these values are measures of the frequency (The repetition rate of a periodic waveform. The inverse of period). This log usually has the unit 'Count Rate'. This is the number of events per unit time; e.g. the output of a scintillation counters. Data from this log can be used to investigate the shock rate of the tool. A similar log might be: ARC Average Tool Shocks (ATSK).
