Ratio of shallow to deep resistivity (RFOC/RILD) (RXTD)

This is a well log used in the oil and gas industry. The acronym RXTD can be found in any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. Ratio of shallow to deep resistivity (RFOC/RILD) is the offical name for this log. Usage of this log is not high and encountering it is a rare occasion.

The values of this log represent the ratio of the resistivity of water-saturated rock to that of the water solution contained in the rock. Also called Formation Resistivity Factor and abbreviated "F".

This log in unitless. Either the log measurements can not be expressed with a unit (eg. a ratio) or the unit is unknown to us.

Data from this log can be used to investigate the formation resistivity factor of the formation. A similar log might be: Formation factor (F).
