Enhanced processing medium resistivity (RRGM)

This is an abbreviation for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. The acronym RRGM can be found in any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The official name for this log is 'Enhanced processing medium resistivity'. This log is not often acquired after (or during) drilling a well.

The values of this log represent the resistivity, made by an induction log, which represents a measurement made approximately two to three feet into the formation.

Simply said, this is a log that describes the resistivity which represents a measurement made approximately two to three feet into the formation; generally considered to measure the formation where it contain fluids which are a mixture of mud filtrate, connate water and possibly hydrocarbons.

This log usually has the unit 'Resistivity'. This is the property of a material which resists the flow of electrical current. The ratio of electric-field intensity to current density. The reciprocal of conductivity.

Data for this log is produced by a tool that uses a induction logging technique and can be used to investigate the resistivity of the formation. Similar logs are listed below:
