Short Spacing Bulk Density (RHOS) |
This is a well log used in the oil and gas industry. You might have encountered this acronym RHOS in your log evaluation software or any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The full name for this log used in the industry is 'Short Spacing Bulk Density'. This log is not often acquired after (or during) drilling a well. This log can be used to evaluate the density of bulk material, including any void space or other materials contained in the subject volume. In well logging, it is the density of the rock, including fluid-filled pore space, as measured with a "Gamma-Gamma" type logging device.This log usually has the unit 'Density'. This is the density (mass per unit volume) of a material. Usually at Standard conditions (STP). Also used to indicate the frequency of occurrence.
