Pretest Number (PTNO) |
This is an acronym for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. You might have encountered this acronym PTNO in your log evaluation software or any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The acronym stands for 'Pretest Number'. This log is not used too often in the industry. This log helps to evaluate the number (or rank) associated with a particular test activity. In general this log therefore displays units of the ordinal number (A number used to indicate the position, rank or order of items in a sequence).This log in unitless. Either the log measurements can not be expressed with a unit (eg. a ratio) or the unit is unknown to us. Data from this log can be used to investigate the id of the test. A similar log might be: Current Shot Number (CSHO).
