Phase Resistivity Angle (PHSF)

This is an abbreviation for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. You could have found the code PHSF in your log evaluation software or your corporate datastores. The full name for this log used in the industry is 'Phase Resistivity Angle'. Usage of this log is not high and encountering it is a rare occasion.

Use this log to investigate the difference in phase of two electromagnetic waves.

Simply said, this is a log that describes the result of adding or subtracting from a phase measurement.

This log usually has the unit 'Plane Angle'. This is the angular displacement between two lines extending from the same point, measured in the plane of the two lines.

Data for this log is produced by a tool that uses a electromagnetic logging technique and can be used to investigate the phase shift of the formation.
